Dre Woods is a fictional character from the ABC soap opera, All My Children, portrayed by Sterling Sulieman.
Storylines[]
Andre first appeared as a member of a garage band. They practiced near Tad Martin and Krystal Carey's home. He and the other band members (Corrina and Ren) expect to heat things up with the younger generation of viewers.
Dre lashed out when he let something slip about his past when Colby Chandler or Sean Montgomery questioned him. He didn't want his picture taken for his band's CD cover. A man in a suit came to Tad and Krystal's house looking for Dre saying that he represented "the family". The band members said they don't know where he went after leaving town, and the man left. Dre briefly disappeared.
Dre told Colby in the Chandler Mansion tunnels that his father was a U.S. attorney who exploited the fact that his wife died in the September 11, 2001 attack on the World Trade Center, and he had run away because he no longer wanted anything to do with him. However, Dre and his father Samuel Woods later began to repair their relationship.
Dre was driving Colby's car when he and Cassandra Foster were bringing Colby home, after she became drunk at her 18th birthday party. He ran over someone in the road, but was unable to determine what the object was, since it was nighttime. The next day—upon learning that Richie Novak had been struck by a car on the same road at approximately the same time—the three teenagers feared that they had inadvertently killed him. Unaware that Richie had actually been murdered earlier that evening by his sister Annie Lavery, the teens vowed to keep the entire incident a secret. They were concerned that the scandal surrounding the incident would negatively impact the careers of their parents: Dre's father Samuel (who was campaigning for a seat in the United States Senate), Colby's father Adam Chandler (whose recent mental instability had already hurt the price of his company's stock), and Cassandra's stepfather Jesse Hubbard (who had been recently appointed chief of the Pine Valley Police Department). However, despite their best efforts, the teenagers' involvement in Richie's death was exposed, and Dre was arrested.
