Adam "J.R." Chandler Jr. is a fictional character on the ABC daytime soap opera All My Children and currently on Prospect Park's AMC reboot. He was portrayed by Jacob Young, who has played the role since October 2003 to September 23, 2011. Ryan Bittle is currently protraying J.R. since May 2013.
He was first seen in May 1989. In 2003, JR Chandler is affected by the SORAS disorder and aged by the casting Jacob Young. He has been involved with Amanda Dillon, Kendall Hart Slater, Annie Lavery, and mainly linked to Babe Carey and recently Marissa Tasker. JR and Babe Carey produce AJ Chandler in 2004 and is involved in a three-way baby switch storyline. Miranda Montgomery's daughter Miranda Montgomery is switch to Babe and JR, while Babe/JR's child is given to Kelly Cramer (of OLTL). Kelly's recent pregnancy ends in a stillbirth and given to Bianca. Eventually the truth is revealed and Miranda goes back to Bianca, while AJ is returned to Babe/JR, and finally Kelly Cramer deals with the death and the situation. Babe Carey dies from injuries of a tornado and eventually JR gets involved with Babe's twin sister and AJ's aunt Marissa Tasker. In late 2011, Marissa dumps JR for Bianca Montgomery. JR is devastated and becomes drunk. Brooke and Adam hold a party and JR arrives and a shot is hear.
He is the mystery man in the hospital bed as revealed on 5-2-13. David reveals that he seen JR fire a shot and stopped JR from wreaking more havoc by shooting JR couple times. He states that he pled guily for his involvement in the Shooting 5 Years Ago (ABC Finale). David starts to take JR off of life support, but decides that life on life support is a bigger punishment than death. JR starts moving his fingers and David starts choking him. David is forced to stop because of Dixie coming in. Jesse Hubbard wants to arrest David, but Angie continues to be on "the town has been through enough" kick. He is also seen in flashbacks. He starts opening his eyes and saying Mom (to Dixie) and Dad (to Adam), but both have left before he says it.
